Goodbye Becky

On May 10, 2007, a good friend and original Flawless member, Becky Calvert died after a 10 year battle with her body. She was a true original, a dear friend to many, and is survived by her family and her partner, Shirley Landon. We are putting up this page in the hopes that her friends will share memories and blessings with those who loved and cared for her.

Becky was one of the good ones, and beloved by many of those Xenites it was my best privilege to know. So, even though we didn't know each other well directly, I feel her loss. May you who survive her rest in the memory of her good soul, and in the warmth of each other's company.

I didn't know Becky, but was amazed at the medical hardships that she battled with grace and humor. Her account of the XWP set visit and the testimony I have heard from her friends show a warm, wonderful person. She will be missed in the Xenaverse, no doubt. Peace and good thoughts to the survivors ...

I remember Becky (and Shirl) from a group I affectionately referred to as "the wackos". Irreverence and silliness abounded. I've been out of touch for a while and I'm so sad to hear that we've lost Becky. She was a tough cookie. Battle On certainly fit with her life. My thoughts are with Shirl and with Becky's loved ones.

I didn't know Becky all that well but heard alot about her and her battles with her health. A courageous woman. My thoughts and prayers go out to her partner Shirl, their families and friends. A warrior to the end.

I dunno what to say....I've been part of the nutbreaders for over 10 years...and her occasional posts were always something to look forward to...i met her for the first time in person only 10 days ago...and she was cheerful and upbeat and just full of this incredible energy that seemed to fill the room....she will definately be missed...

Beckaroni will remain in the hearts of whomever she met. Despite the tough exterior, she was a sweet and wonderful person who cared a great deal.

Becky was a great Lady, with a big heart. She was passionate about Xena a passion that was very contagious when you were around her. She and Shirl guided me to the Nutbreaders where I met a lot of really great people. I would always be very grateful for her friendship she would be very missed.

I've known Becky and Shirl for quite awhile, and Becky "The Commander" was always a blast on the SonofaBacchae list. Her humor and wit and love of Xena will always be remembered by those of us from the SoB. Battle On Becky! Our thoughts and prayers go out to Shirl and Becky's loved ones.

Becky you will always have a place in my heart. You and Shirl sent me love and prayers when I was ill and I will never forget that great kindness. The Xenaverse has lost a good person but her soul will shine on. Shirl I send you my love and know you will always have a friend.

I will always remember Becky as the person that "drafted" me into the Nutbread Brigade. My 'Chief' showed me a wonderful world I had been unaware of most of my life. Her warmth, compassion and wacky humor set her apart as a very special and unique person. There will always be a special place in my memory and heart for Becky. Irreplaceable, irrepressible, and wonderful beyond my poor words to express, she was a wonder to anyone fortunate enough to know her. Battle on Becky, for I know you will, where ever you are.

I didn't know Becky but I knew 'of' her. My thoughts go out to those who mourn her loss. The Xenaverse was a better place for having had her in it. She will be missed.

I didn't know Becky but was really sad to read about her passing. After all, we're like a big family, aren't we? Losing a Xenite is losing a part of the Xenaverse.

Be at peace, Becky.
To her family and friends, I just wish to say: Be strong.

We only met once. Pasadena. She came for the convention and ended up in the hospital. We went to visit. Becky was an extremely brave woman. My deepest sympathy and thoughts go out to her partner, family and friends.

I knew Becky through the Flawless list and then she and I set up the Nutbread list with a bunch of wonderful (a bit wacky) women. She and I corresponded enough that I learned that she was an always positive, careing, funny person and a devoted Xenite. She helped me through some difficult personal times and I will always be grateful to her. I introduced her to her current wife and I was there at their wedding. I will remember her with love and I promise you Shirl, she went peacefully and thinking of you...

I did not have the privledge of knowing Becky...I'm sure the pleasure would have been all mine. Be assured she is in the arms of those who have passed before her. I'll bet right now she is sitting side by side with Kevin discussing the details of each Xena episode and his take on playing Ares!

I wish her partner Shirl steady healing and the warm attention of all who love her. I wish all who are grieving her loss comfort in happy memories.

Im from Houston, lived with Becky for 3 years as a special friend. Its such a shcocker even though I knew she was sick. Met her in 1985, and remember her days as a DJ and my radiology supervisor. She got me into radiology and very thankful. Shirl and her family, I send my prayers. Will misss you Beck!

In the Xenaverse the dead can hear us speak, so Becky knows she was loved and will be missed by all of us hornies and xenite nutballs.

Battle on, Shirl!

Becky was the 1st person to tell me abt how stuff works on the net & in the X:WP grps online. I was a clueless kid. She contacted me & helped me out. She was also the first person to send me a tape of X:WP that I couldn't get in my country. She was really nice. I always thought when I'd grow up n I was doing well in life, I'd make it up to her for helping me out. I kinda dropped outta the X:WP online scene after my Dad passed away. I logged into my group after 3 & a half years yesterday & saw that Becky had passed. Now, I'm very sad that she's gone & I never got the chance to do anything for her.

My condolences to Becky's family, friends n Shirl.
~Jackie~
